Chapman's comments, but it's pretty condescending. He described perfectly what I was doing, and as of this evening it still doesn't work. I've tried a couple of different browsers, still no luck. Also, still no word from help mailid. Since this posting is not so much about providing a solution and more about people and Micromat calling people that aren't getting it to work stupid in a round about way, I have to pretty much take Mr. Le Blanc's side and say this is all a bunch of crap! If you get technical, almost every program I have on my Mac needed an upgrade for Lion.
The upgrades worked in typical Mac fashion, click on the update button and shortly thereafter you are good to go. Here we have a situation that a. Got to love it! I do not know why you mistakenly believe that I blamed the customers for the fact that 0.
An aspect of the Order Details feature of the online store is broken at the moment. I am sorry that it is broken; it will be fixed. I do know know precisely when it will be fixed. In such circumstances, I remind myself that patience is a moral virtual, and like the other moral virtues, cannot be replaced by a technology.
Last Edit: 18 Aug by micromattech3. It makes no allowance for the many people who have no doubt had trouble with the update but have not bothered to comment on it or ask for help. Whatever the real number might be, the problem is that the usual recourse in such circumstances is not available - because the store is also broken. It's an unfortunate confluence of events that has frustrated users and prompted some of us to express our dissatisfaction with some heat.
You responded defensively with ill informed suggestions that sent us running in still more circles, unnecessarily - and no doubt unintentionally - aggravating the situation further. As for the store being broken, have you posted a notice to that effect anywhere but on this forum? It would slake some people's irritation if they were informed of this problem before running around trying to find the magic - and missing - download button on your web site.
By the time I started this forum thread I was already steamed about the time I wasted trying to figure it out. Posting such a notice would have the added benefit of cutting down on the irate comments from frustrated users, comments which you are loath to post on the forum. I have forwarded your suggestion. I do not agree with your characterization of my work. You are entitled to your opinion. People who could not download the update using Check for Update within the application were instructed to send a message to This email address is being protected from spambots.
People who followed those instructions had their problem solved. Akridge, I've sent a couple of emails your way and not received a response. Could you please let us know whether you received either email, specifically the one with the download link? Thanks very much for your patience as we sort out your issue. Thanks, Micromat Help. Re: Update won't download 19 Aug Here is an update about the problems with using Sparkle to download the TechTool Pro 6.
Be assured that we take the comments of our customers very seriously. Though we hope that customers will address their concerns in a calm, reasoned manner, a legitimate issue remains legitimate regardless of how it is phrased. We have identified that users who purchased from our online store in March, tend to be those having problems accessing their download, and our web team is looking into it.
Those having trouble with the updater seem to be running into a problem interacting with the Amazon S3 server. We have less control over this, but are nonetheless looking into it. Again we thank those of you who are experiencing problems with your download for your patience. All those who need a download link may, again, send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. The 16, postings we had in the MacFixIt Forums were written by me. Yes, patience is never going to become obsolete. I hope that this thread provides evidence that I still have some, for which the customer has thanked me.
The fact that within a few months, the forums were all new causing me to lose all postings I had not saved in a Yojimbo database , the online store was new, the operating system changed, and then the update process did not work in a few cases is a formula for unprecedented trouble. It has been difficult for me, with no prior experience with online stores, to keep in mind that a feature may work for some accounts and not for others, depending on when they were created.glenutqualehar.ga

I hope that things will go better in the future. I did manage to find my screen capture of the online order receipt last night. My Mail has an odd combination in which some messages are threaded and others that I would expect to be threaded are not. Other regulars decided to stay with CNET. I am always happy to put acrimony aside. You are welcome, regarding the FineTunedMac reminder. I am going to see if turning off the gmail-like threading in Mail, rebuilding the mailboxes, and then turning it back on makes a difference. I may simply turn it off and leave it off.
If I have to forward the text of a forum posting to someone, and they reply, where am I supposed to file the threaded message, in the mailbox for forum postings, or the one for the person to whom I sent the message? I have heard of cases of serious problems arising in workplaces when people are new to gmail. Eventually, people learn to be more cautious. It was sad, and I thought of it as a blow to the entire platform. I can only say that Ted made an entirely correct decision based on what he knew at the time.
Thanks for pointing out that I should not let the past prevent me from taking a good look at what CNET has to offer today. As for aggregators, my Firefox home page is set to www. Ric Ford was one of the first Macintosh commentators, back in the days when a friend of mine who is an industrial designer became print subscriber number 7 in New York City for the MacInTouch Newsletter.
I figure that if the sky is going to fall on our platform, Ric Ford is going to let us know promptly. When a bug caused data loss on attached and mounted external FireWire drives when the Macintosh restarted after a system software update, Ric was among the first to know. Last Edit: 19 Aug by micromattech3. Username Password Remember me Forgot your password? Thanks for letting us know what worked for you. Which is fine - unless you're one of those for whom it doesn't work, as I am. And it's still the case that for almost ten years I've been able to download TTP updates and now I have to jump through extra hoops it was never actually easy to do to get the download.
Despite what micromattech3 apparently believes, this is a change in policy. Can you spell p-a-r-a-n-o-i-d? It's good to know it's not just me being bitchy. There is a real problem with the download after all. Not that you'll post this, but I feel vindicated nonetheless. Of course you don't agree with my characterization of your work. Be that as it may, my characterization of your work is based on my experience with your work - I have nothing else to go on.
You admitted that you do not have an account with the MicroMat store so it took you several days to figure out that it was not working. You further admitted that the information you provided at first to users like me was inaccurate as to terminology because Apple Mail ate your homework! You obviously don't understand how the misinformation you provided affected users. That lack of understanding informs your work - and I'm not the only one to have noticed that fact.
Yes, the right information was offered, eventually, after we struggled with the wrong information. I got the message when trying to update an app skype so out of frustration I deleted it, tried to redownload but the error persisted.
