Error 1004: Unable to Download from the App Store / iTunes

I'm not sure if I inadevertantly fixed it or if it just resolved by it self? I tried downloading the choosen apps using iTunes on my PC and then syncing them to my iphone4. I dont get the error using this method but when I sync with my iphone the app doesn't transfer across!!!!

I've tried clearing the safri history, cookies and cache. Still with no joy. Can anyone help, I'm pulling my hair out. PS - I have "ifile" on my iphone. Hopefully I can use this to fix?
